The Pax House – An Irish Coastal Guesthouse

I recently took a ten-day trip to Ireland. I have always wanted to visit that beautiful country for as long as I can remember. To see the town where my great-great grandmother grew up and just explore the country.

My favorite part of the country was the amazing countryside of Dingle in County Kerry. Right be the sea, Dingle is a peaceful and calming place with lush green landscape and sea views surrounding you. It was a wonderful place to be. Just like the Pax House.

“Pax” is Latin for “peace”. This was the perfect name for this B&B. The Pax House has an amazing view of the sea and landscape. When you’re there, all time seems to have stopped. You can relax and enjoy the beauty of Ireland and the Pax House itself.

A light blue paint was used throughout the B&B giving it a soft and soothing feeling. The living room/seating area has big windows looking out to the sea and land. There are binoculars placed on the window sills for you to use and hopefully catch sight of Fungie the dolphin who swims in the bay below the B&B. On a hutch near the entrance of the seating area, hot coffee was always available. They had the prettiest tea cups to use!

The Pax House is tastefully decorated with paintings and coastal décor. It’s a mix of multiple styles but it comes together so beautifully and makes the place that much more special and unique.

Breakfast was in a cute, sun room like area with big windows showcasing the view. It was painted in the light blue color making the room feel soft and airy. There was a buffet counter that held juices, yogurts, cereals, and the prettiest bowls to use. The room was minimally decorated with a few coastal décor pieces, leaving the view to be the center of attention.

The rooms of this B&B are beautiful and very comfy. The two rooms I stayed in had great views of the sea and landscape. The whole room had a calming feel about it. There were extra blankets in a basket to keep you snug and warm, binoculars to look at the sea, and fresh, little flowers by your bedside. I’m not going to show pictures of the rooms because I don’t want to ruin the fun of experiencing them yourselves (plus you can get little sneak peeks of them on the Pax House website).

The Pax House is a wonderful place to stay. The owner John and his staff are so friendly and welcoming. They do a great job running the B&B! If you’re ever in Dingle Ireland, you have to stop and stay here!

P.S. They were voted the #1 B&B in Ireland 2017 by Tripadvisor!
